We read in 2 Corinthians 10:3-6
For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.
Everything we do and say has to get past the gateway of our mind, thoughts, and as the Bible describes it the ‘heart’ the very epicenter where deeds of good or evil proceed. Once we make the heart submit to the scripture of God and it is under full obedience of the latter the enemy is powerless to persuade you differently or bring any doubt in your mind (heart) as to God’s promise to complete the good work that He has begun in you and to walk in the Spirit no longer fulfilling the lusts of the flesh and it’s ugly deeds.
What ARE those ugly deeds? I’m so glad you asked; Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. – Galatians 5:19-21
